House News
2006
August 7 - Last night I finally gave into the temptation to
make my own spelt doughnuts. Contrary to what you might think,
spelt makes very decent baked goods and junk food replacements.
We bought a deep fryer, made up some dough, and had a lovely
fry up on Sunday night. We invited the neighbors and a few friends
and fried away. Here are a few
photos of the fun.
January - Deva and Soken's Wedding
Snapshots from LA
We are really hoping that 2006 will be a little calmer than
2005. We need some rest.
2005
Our year in brief
It was an incredibly busy year. It all began with Carl traveling
a lot for work and far too many house repairs that all started
out as just trying to fix our ceilings. Carl traveled for work
the first quarter of the year, then went to Peru. Take a look
at Carl's pictures of Peru from
his April visit.
Lys sat at home in the destroyed house and managed to be sick
nearly the entire first four months of the year.
We got wonderful Electra
Bikes in time for Carl's birthday and spent the summer riding
around looking for trouble.
Things picked up when we started planning our trip to Italy,
but we were sidetracked with Carl's hernia surgery.
Two out of town weddings in September.
October we traveled to Italy. It was wonderful (photos to come).
Carl's first trip to Europe was a success, although we realized
we have very different traveling styles (as could be imagined
by any of you who know us).
November 7th our new nephew arrived a few weeks after our return
from Italy.
Thanksgiving came and 17 people were planned for dinner (12
showed). Lys's mom and dad came to stay for a week and buy a
condo!
Christmas Carl's mom came to visit for a few weeks We got to
play Shanghai Rummy which made
us all very happy.
New Years was spent at the Oriental
Theater watching Devotchka.
We packed up and went to LA for Deva and Soken's wedding.
